Jana Hubinská is one of the most prominent actors of the post-revolutionary period of 1989. She is a theatre and musical actress who, thanks to her versatile talent, not only covers the Slovak theatre scene, but has also worked with European theatre, film and television productions since graduating from the Academy of Performing Arts (VŠMU). During her rich career, her work has been recognized with numerous domestic and international awards.

During her professional career she has accomplished everything an artist can dream of. She portrayed dramatic and comic characters, performed in musical or dance performances, concerts, and her work was displayed at vernissages. When the opportunity arrives she travels a lot, takes photographs, writes books and never forgets the humanity. She supports various foundations: for the visually or hearing impaired, children from orphanages, she adopted two little siblings from Ghana whom she supported for 14 years /until they reached adulthood/ and countless other activities that she does to make there less pain and evil on the earth.

  • In 1986 Jana Hubinska was accepted to the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava. Right after the first semester she was approached by P. Mikulík, to collaborate on performances with the senior class. The student theatre period for Jana was marked by comedies, and earned her the title of the school's best comedian. She is studying two years concurrently. At the end of the second semester with the upper year she staged the play "Nájdúch" for the project of the VŠMU "Frontové Divadlo", with which she toured the whole of Slovakia and Bohemia during the holidays, in 1988 she again performed in the "Frontové Divadlo" project, this time with her year, Goldoni's "The Cunning Widow". In the third year at the theatre festival in Italy "AREZZO 98" they won the second prize with the performance "Komédia nová o vdově". During her artistically very fruitful student years at the Academy of Performing Arts, she moderates, acts and sings in by the audience very successful musical-entertainment fashion show "Model clip", plays in TV productions, films and theatre performances. She graduated from the VŠMU in 1989-90 with the Witkaczy's "ONI" (starring Spike), directed by Polish director R. Ziola.                                                                            
  • Jana's free soul is with the fall of socialism given wings. She crossed boundaries and pursued her dreams. Immediately after graduating from the VŠMU, she was selected for a pan-European audition to attend a musical school in Warsaw. Here she participated in the study of the musical "Metro". She performs in theatre, film and foreign television productions. In January 1992 Jana became a mother, her daughter Sarah was born. After 1989, film production in Slovakia broke up for 15 years, but Jana has been continuously making films and television projects in the Czech Republic and other European countries for 27 years. During this period it can be safely and immodestly said that Jana Hubinská is the most successful post-revolutionary actress in Slovakia. She works continuously, and her curiosity and hunger for creation, discovery and knowledge model her into a broadly comprehensive multifunctional artist. Very often she collaborates on projects that are innovative in form or content as well as in theatre, film, but also in other kinds of art, such as: - avant-garde performances "Hrdza", "Aparia", "Fly Čechov fly", - the film "Děvčátko", which was shot for the first time on High Definition TV format, or - live TV production in honor of the 50th anniversary of the founding of Czechoslovak Television "Dôverní nepriatelia", but also other projects a multi-genre project "10 dní v JAR, alebo v RAJi? ".
  • Jana Hubinska is a sensitive artist with a restless and ever creative soul. She finds creativity in everything that life has to offer. Creativity is a constant search, discovery and change. Jana Hubinska became the first teacher of film acting in 2007 at the Academy of Arts in Banská Bystrica. Since 2021 she has been teaching musical singing at the Music Faculty of the Academy of Arts in Banská Bystrica. Creation is life. She believes that this hunger for knowledge, which she can also push further to the audience thanks to her profession, will never leave her.
